Dr. Upul Lekamge

I have been serving over 35 years as a teacher cum lecturer in both public and private sector institutes in Sri Lanka. Presently, I am a Senior Lecturer in Sociology attached to Sabaragamuwa University of Sri Lanka. I extend my contributions to the University as the Director of Center for Gender Equality and Equality [CGEE] and the Quality Assurance Coordinator of the Faculty of Social Sciences and Languages.

I have secured a BA [Hons.] from prestigious University of Peradeniya, Sri Lanka in 1995. Subsequently, I have been interested in and obtained qualifications in TESL [PGDE], Sociology, International Relations, and Linguistics. I have secured PGDE (TESL) [1998] -University of Colombo, MSSc. in Sociology [2004] and MA Linguistics [2006] – University of Kelaniya, Ph.D. in Sociology [2010] – University of Sri Jayewardenepura and MA in International Relations [2011] – University of Colombo.

My professional experiences count as a lecturer, editor, reviewer, dissertation supervisor, and examiner for both local and foreign tertiary educational institutes.
